Life-Link.app helps you stay connected with emergency contacts and share wellbeing status. We collect only what we need to provide that service and keep it secure. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and how you can control your data.
Information We Collect
We collect information necessary to run the app and deliver alerts:
- Account information: email address, name, and password (handled by our authentication provider).
- Physical address: address lines, country, and postal code you optionally add in your profile.
- Emergency contacts: names and contact details you add so we can send alerts when you need help.
- Wellbeing status: status updates you choose to share (e.g. "I NEED HELP!" or other statuses) and optional notes.
- Location: only when you use location-related features (e.g. sharing location with emergency contacts during an active emergency).
- Device and app use: if you use connected devices or optional features, we may receive related data to provide those features.
- Usage and analytics: we collect data about how the app is used (e.g. app sessions, feature use, and technical data such as performance) to improve our service and fix issues. We use our own systems and, where applicable, analytics service providers that process data on our behalf under strict confidentiality.
How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide and secure your account.
- Send emergency and wellbeing alerts to your designated contacts when you trigger them.
- Operate the app (e.g. timeline, contacts, notifications).
- Improve our service and fix issues (including via usage and analytics data, as described above).
- Comply with applicable law.
We Do Not Sell Your Data
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with third parties for their marketing or advertising.
Sharing With Others
We may share your information only in these situations:
- Your emergency contacts: when you trigger an alert, we send them the information needed to respond (as configured in the app).
- Service providers: we use providers for hosting, email, app functionality, and analytics; they are required to protect your data and use it only to provide our service.
- Legal: when required by law or to protect rights and safety.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. See Your Choices below for how to exercise these rights.
Your Choices
You can control your data and how we communicate with you in the following ways:
- Account and data deletion: You can delete your account and associated data from the app (e.g. via Settings or Profile, where available) or by contacting us at privacy@life-link.app. We will process deletion requests in line with our Data Retention section and applicable law.
- Access, correction, or export: To request a copy of your data, to correct it, or to export it in a portable format, contact us at privacy@life-link.app. We will respond in accordance with applicable law.
- Notifications: You can manage push and email notifications in your device settings and in the app where those options are offered.
- Location: You can disable location access in your device settings; some features (e.g. sharing location with contacts during an emergency) may then be limited.
If you are in the European Economic Area, UK, or California, you may have additional rights under local law; contact us to exercise them.
Data Retention
We keep your data only as long as needed to provide the service and as required by law. If you request deletion, we will remove or anonymise your personal information within a reasonable period and in line with our legal obligations.
Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (TLS/HTTPS), secure authentication, and access controls. No system is completely secure; we encourage you to use a strong password and keep your account details safe.
